I miss Pat Jayne a friend and old roommate

I miss Pat Jayne, a friend and old roommate
Enjoy this letter I sent to Pat Oct, 2000 after receiving a package containing one rubber Nixon mask without any explanation. It would be the last time I hear from him.

Lazlo….

Thanks for the disguise, it will come in handy, you never know when the “resistance” and I will have to go underground. I noticed you spared no expense. Malaysia’s children make some of the best polypropylene masks in the world, low lead content. Thank you.

I’m glad all is well at the compound. If I ever need a place to hide I know I will be safe there with people I can trust….honest faces. All is good here at the East Camp. As you may know Sandy is with child and we expect to add to the commune April of 2001. If it is a boy we will call him Rojas. I would like, when he is old enough, for you to personally train him. He will need extensive training in how to “deal” with screw-heads and pods. This instruction must come from you, because of the insight you gained back in 1983 when you went underground to live among them. Ah, you are a brave soul my friend.

I almost needed to call you for legal advice while vacationing down in FL last month. Turns out the locals don’t take kindly to pissing off the balconies of the local bars. By the time the Mescal had me in its ruthless paws I had difficulties explaining my justification. But, somehow I was able to convince them I was suffering an allergic reaction to the Niacin contained in the massive plate of oysters I had just consumed. The threat of a food poisoning lawsuit cleared the whole incident up. In the future, I’ll make sure you are able to travel with me.

Your Friend,
Gonzo
